Launch Operations

From the DockMaster menu, select Marina Management > Launch Management > Launch Operations

This module allows you to maintain the list of available operation types used in the Launch Management program. These operations are also referred to as actions or movements. There are four default codes that are preset in the Launch Operations File; the codes are H - Haul, L - Launch, R – Launch and Retrieve, and O – Other; you CANNOT change the description on these codes.

• Haul - This operation should be used to schedule a billable haul out, or the haul out of a boat for service work. The letter designation for this operation is ‘H’.
• Launch - This operation type should be used to schedule the launching of a boat. The letter designation for this operation is ‘L’.
• Launch/Retrieve - This operation type should be used to schedule a launch that will need to be retrieved in the same day. The letter designation for this operation is ‘R’. This feature is commonly used by in and out dry stack facilities. A Launch with a Retrieve will stay in the monitor until both actions are performed.
• Other - This operation type should be used for scheduling miscellaneous marina services. The letter designation for this operation is ‘O’.

To perform maintenance of Launch Operations codes:

• Code - Enter the Operation Code. Operation codes are one or two-digit codes that represent the movement actions for boats. For example, Haul, Launch, Service Rack, Wash Rack, etc.
• Description - Enter a Description for this operation. This description is displayed in drop down lists when selecting an operation.
• Duration - Enter the Duration required for this operation or bypass the prompt to leave the duration unassigned. The Duration field is used to determine how long an operation will take.
• Pieces of Equipment - Enter the number of lifts/cranes required for this operation. This field will help determine when you have reached your limit for launch requests.
• Click the Save button to save the code.
