PATIENT ENCOUNTER PAYER AUTHORIZATIONS TAB


For payers that require authorizations, they can be set up to include authorization number and parameters such as whether authorizations are required by discipline, visits, hours or amount.  Click here for more information on Patient Encounter Payer Requirements.  There is also a field in the Authorization Requirements section that allows you to designate whether this payer permits overrides at the patient level to the authorization requirements established by the payer.  Click here to learn more about Organization Payer Requirements Tab.

ADD AUTHORIZATION  (Top)

To add an Authorization, click on "Add Authorization". 

Enter the required information and click “Save/Add" if you need to add more than one authorization OR

"Save/Close".

AUTHORIZATIONS MISSING  (Top)

To see what disciplines are missing authorizations, click on the "Authorization Missing" link.

The "Services Missing Authorization" screen appears.  Click "Cancel" when you are finished viewing.

HAS OPEN AUTHORIZATIONS AVAILABLE  (Top)

Click the "Has open authorizations available" icon, to attach services to the authorization.

Choose the visits to attach or remove and click "Save" when finished. 

EDIT AUTHORIZATION  (Top)

To edit an authorization, click on the "Edit" pencil.

Make the necessary changes and click "Save" when you are finished. 

DELETE AUTHORIZATION  (Top)

To delete an authorization, click on the "Trash Can". 

You will be asked if you are sure you want to delete.  Click "OK" to confirm.

UPLOAD DOCUMENT  (Top)

You can also attach authorization records to the Authorizations Tab by clicking on the "Upload Document" link.

Click on "Choose File". 

Select the file you want to upload and click "Choose".

Enter the required information and click “Upload/Add More” if you need to upload more documents OR

"Upload/Close". 

VIEW UPLOADED DOCUMENT  (Top)

To view the authorization, click on the link under "Document Description". 

DELETE UPLOADED DOCUMENT  (Top)

You can also delete an uploaded authorization document by clicking on the "Trash Can".

You will be asked if you are sure you want to delete.  Click "OK" to confirm.
